Town hall Is beautiful piece of architecture built by British in 1866 as local administration office, when they took control of Punjab in 1849.

This place was established by Sri Guru Hargobind Ji in early 1600s. He also established 32 shops by the side of this Atari and asked to the traders to start their business here and given the name to the market batti hatta market. This place is very close to his residence as well and he would often spend time here with the devotees.
