Stop At: Shravanbela Gola (Rural), Karnataka 573135, India

You will be picked up from your hotel in Bangalore by your tour guide and driven to Shravanbelagola.

Visit the 52 feet statue of Lord Bahubali that is situated on top of the Vindhyagiri hill. There are 600 steps that lead to the statue from where the view is truly rewarding. The base of the statue has inscriptions that date back to 981 A.D. This statue is considered to be the tallest statue in Asia that is made from a single rock.

Every 12 years a ceremony is performed here during which the statue is anointed with water, turmeric, sandalwood paste, saffron and gold and silver flowers.

Next visit the Chennakesava Temple. Spend some time looking at the tens of thousands of carvings that adorn the walls of the temple. Carved in black soapstone, these intricate carvings narrate sequences from ancient Indian mythology.

At the end of the tour enjoy lunch (own expense) at a local restaurant.

Later, you will be driven back to Bangalore and dropped off at your hotel.
