Day 1: Bangalore / Mysore

You will be picked up from your hotel in Bangalore and proceed to Mysore en route visiting Srirangapatnam. Srirangapatnam is a town in the Mandya district of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is a rocky island formed by the Cauvery River, which made it a militarily and religiously significant town. Srirangapatna came into prominence during the rise of Hyder Ali and his famed son Tipu Sultan, who converted it into a fortified city. It was the power center of South India for a long time, before Tipu Sultan lost the last of the four battles against the British East India Company. Your tour will show you the numerous historic and religious monuments.

Day 2: Mysore sightseeing

Explore Mysore, which is considered the cultural capital of the state of Karnataka. It is also known to be the second cleanest city in India and one of the most well-planned ones. The people of Mysore are famous for their peaceful attitude and helpful nature. Your guided tour will visit the majestic Mysore City Palace, which is one of India’s most spectacular royal buildings. The Palace was the seat of the Wodeyar Maharajas, who ruled the kingdom from 1399 to 1950. The palace you see today was built in 1912 after a fire destroyed the first palace. In the palace you will see the extravagant opulence and fine details of the interior. Admire the paintings, elaborate architecture, the intricately carved rosewood doors, mosaic floors and stained glassed windows. You may also see the marble figurines, collections of caskets, paintings of the members of the royal family and other objects of personal use.

Then you will visit the beautiful Brindavan Gardens, known for their symmetric designs and illuminated terrace gardens. Spread across an area of more than 60 acres, the gardens are laid out in three terraces, and end in a horseshoe shape. The gardens contain a wide array of illuminated, cascading fountains, Ficus trees, foliage plants, and flowering plants. The garden also has topiary works, shaded passageways, and gazebos.
