Stop At: Srirangapatna, Srirangapatna, Mandya District, Karnataka

Start your tour early in the morning after meeting with your personal chauffeur in the hotel lobby. He will make a brief stop on the way to Srirangapatna for breakfast (at your own cost). Drive 160 Kilometres (approx) to Srirangapatna from Bangalore/Bengaluru city. Although situated a few kms from Mysore city, Srirangapatna lies in the neighbouring district of Mandya. The entire town is enclosed by the river Kaveri to form a river island. Your Private Guide will meet you at Srirangapatna.

Visit the Ranganthaswamy temple dedicated to the Hindu god Ranganatha (a manifestation of the god Vishnu) is one of the five important pilgrimage sites along the river Kaveri for devotees of Ranganatha. These five sacred sites are together known as Pancharanga Kshetrams in Southern India.

Daria Daulat Bagh (literally ‘Garden of the Wealth’) is a palace situated in the city of Srirangapatna. The palace is built in the Indo-Sarcenic style in mostly made of teakwood. The palace has a rectangular plan and is built on a raised platform. The most stunning feature of the palace is that all the space available on the walls, pillars, canopies and arches have colourful frescoes in the style of Mysore paintings.

Tombs of Tipu Sultan and Hyder Ali, is situated in Srirangapatnam; it looks very similar to the Golconda tombs with an elegant square chamber with a brick dome. The excellent workmanship is evident in the carved stone windows, ebony doorways artistically designed with inlaid ivory. There is an ancient mosque inside the complex.

Stop At: St. Philomena’s Church, Mysuru (Mysore) India

St. Philomena’s church is a Catholic church built in honour of St. Philomena in the Diocese of Mysore, India. It was constructed in 1936 using a Neo Gothic style and its architecture was inspired by the Cologne Cathedral in Germany. Your private guide will assist with few recommendations to have lunch (at your own cost) in the middle of the day.

The Palace of Mysore is a historical palace in the city of Mysore in Karnataka, southern India. It is the official residence and seat of the Wodeyars — the Maharajas of Mysore, the royal family of Mysore, who ruled the princely state from 1399 to 1950. The palace houses two durbar halls (ceremonial meeting halls of the royal court) and incorporates a mesmerizing and gigantic array of courtyards, gardens, and buildings. The palace is in the central region of inner Mysore, facing the Chamundi Hills eastward.

Icing on the cake for the day tour is, walking tour in the Bazaars of Devaraja market. This Bazaar is an apt place to get a flavour of the local people’s daily life. With more than 100 years of history, this market is well knitted into the heritage of Mysore. This is a good sample of a traditional Indian market place that are colourful, noisy, vibrant and a tad chaotic.

Stop At: Sri Chamundeshwari Temple, Chamundi Hills, Mysuru (Mysore) 570010 India

At the end of the trip drive uphill on Chaundi hills to see beautifull sun set and a bird’s eye view of a lovely Mysore city. Named after goddess Chamundi, the Chamundeshwari Temple sits atop the Chamundi hill. The main hill itself features an ancient stone stairway of 1,008 steps leading to its summit. Approximately halfway to the summit is statue of bull Nandi, the vahana, or “vehicle” of Lord Shiva, which is 4.9m tall and 7.6m long and carved out of a single piece of black granite. Around this point, the steps become significantly less steep and eventually the climber is rewarded with a panoramic view of the city.

Return back to Bangalore/ Bengaluru city with lovely memories. Your Private chauffeur will drop you back to the hotel at the end of the tour.
