The Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an ancient, but much rebuilt and restored, Buddhist temple in Bodh Gaya, marking the location where the Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment. The Bodhi Tree is inside the temple premises. Mobile phone or any other gadgets are not allowed to carry inside which can be kept at the mobile locker free of cost near the entrance gate. Camera is allowed at an extra charge.

It is a mix of sandstone blocks and red granite.[3] It is possibly the largest built in India and was consecrated on 18 November 1989 by the’s 14th Dalai Lama.
