Vedagiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, according to the ancient inscriptions found on the Vedagiri Temple walls, the temple was first built by the Pallava king, Narasimha Varma in the 9th century AD. According to the Mythology, in the very distant past mountains were blessed with wings and they were travelling from one place to another freely. Once the Malayagiri Mountain was travelling from Kanyakumari to Himalayas, its four wings fell at different locations on the earth, namely Vedagiri, Yadagiri, Mangalagiri and Nandagiri respectively. The Malayagiri Mountain offered prayer to the Supreme God Vishnu, who blessed the Malayagiri and said that all four wings will transform into the places of worship in the future. It is also believed that Lord Balaji has set his holy foot on top of Narasimha Konda. According to Brahma Purana, Saptarishi or the Seven Sages performed spiritual Yagnas on top of the hill.
