Itinerary

Stop At: Kanchipuram, Kanchipuram, Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu

Your driver will pick you up at your hotel in Chennai at 07:00 in the morning and drive you to the holy city of Kanchipuram (approximately 90 minutes).

Upon arrival, you will be visiting the most famous Shiva temple, the Ekambareswara where Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of Earth Linga.  

Next, visit another temple dedicated to Shiva, the Kailasanathar.  The temple was built by the Pallava Dynasty during the eighth century.  The architecture of this temple resembles the shore temple at Mamallapuram. The center of attraction in Vishnu Kanchi is the temple of Varadarajaswamy situated on the top of Hastigiri or Elephant Hill.

You will have some free time to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (at own expense).

After lunch, visit the town of Kancheepuram which is also known as Silk City since the main profession of the people is weaving silk sarees. You will have the opportunity to admire and even buy a saree.

You will be driven back to your hotel in Chennai.
