Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Udaipur

Stop At: Udaipur, Udaipur, Udaipur District, Rajasthan
On arrival at Udaipur airport assistance and transfer to the hotel. Day free & easy for visiting the local market and individual activities with your driver.

Enjoy boat ride on Lake Pichola on which the majestic Lake Palace Hotel is situated. See the ghats along the lake and the interesting buildings on the banks. The view of the city palace from the lake is spectacular. Lake Pichola, is an artificial fresh water lake, created in the year 1362 AD, named after the nearby Picholi village. It is one of the several contiguous lakes, and developed over the last few centuries in and around the famous Udaipur city. The lakes around Udaipur were primarily created by building dams to meet the drinking water and irrigation needs of the city and its neighborhood. Two islands, Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir are located within Pichola Lake, and have been developed with several palaces to provide views of the lake. Later watch “Dharohar” folk dance show at Bagore-ki-Haveli. A gorgeous 18th century haveli that has been converted into a museum showcasing Mewar art and architecture. In the evenings, the haveli puts on one of the best Rajasthani folk dance shows in Rajasthan Dharohar Dance. For an hour, performers dance to Rajasthani folk music wearing bright coloured ethnic dresses. The dances are varied and demonstrate the tradition and culture of Rajasthani folklore.

Day 2: Udaipur

Stop At: Udaipur, Udaipur, Udaipur District, Rajasthan
Breakfast at hotel, full day city tour of Udaipur. Visit city Palace one of the architectural marvels of Rajasthan, located peacefully on the banks of Lake Pichola. This majestic City Palace is the most-visited tourist attraction of Udaipur and often distinguished as the largest palace complex in Rajasthan. Initially, Maharana Udai Singh built this superb wonder, but the present form of the Palace is the result of subsequent additions by his successors. Vintage Car Museum having some of the rarest classic and vintage car collection, a paradise for all motor enthusiasts. The museum houses many famous vintage cars like the 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom used in the Bond film Octopussy and many rare Rolls Royce models to name a few. The quiet and peaceful environment here is an added bonus. Saheliyon-ki-Bari one of the most beautiful and popular destination in Udaipur. The garden lies in the northern part of the city, on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Saheliyon Ki Bari is famous for its lush green lawns, fountains and kiosks, a delightful lotus pool and marble elephants. Moti Magri (Pearl hill) it overlooks the Fateh Sagar Lake. Atop the Moti Magri is the memorial of the Rajput hero Maharana Pratap, which has a bronze statue of the Maharana astride his favourite horse “Chetak”.
Jagdish Temple stunning Indo-Aryan architectural marvel built in 1651, is largest temple in city. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and also houses other shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, Ganesh, the Sun God, and Goddess Shakti. This temple should be visited not only to offer your devotion but also to witness beautiful wall carvings, elephant sculptures and for the stunning architecture. Nagda Temples a historical small town for tourists, Nagda is a wonderful destination to visit which is situated at a distance of 23 Kms from Udaipur. The town was founded in the 6th century by the fourth Mewar King named as Nagaditya. It worked as the capital of Mewar during the time when it was known as Nagahrida.

Day 3: Udaipur – Mount Abu (165kms/ 4hrs approx)

Stop At: Mount Abu, Rajasthan 307501, India
Breakfast at hotel drive to Mount Abu, check in at hotel. Later city tour visit the Dilwara Temples. These Jain temples were built by Vimal Shah and designed by Vastupala, Jain minister of Dholka, between the 11th and 16th centuries and are famous for their use of white marble and intricate marble carvings. They are a pilgrimage place of the Jains. Although Jains built many beautiful temples at other places in Rajasthan, the Dilwara temples are believed to be the most beautiful example of architectural perfection. The temples have an opulent entranceway, the simplicity in architecture reflecting Jain values like honesty and frugality. The ornamental detail spreading over the minutely carved ceilings, doorways, pillars, and panels is simply marvellous.

Day 4: Mount Abu – Patan – Modhera – Ahmedabad (280kms/ 5hrs approx)

Stop At: Rani Ki vav, Near the Patan Highway, 384265 India
Breakfast at hotel, drive to Ahmedabad via visiting Patan & Modhera.

Rani ki Vav (the Queen’s Stepwell) a UNESCO World Heritage Site located on the banks of the Saraswati River. The world famous 11th century Solanki era step well was built by the Queen in memory of her husband. Designed as an inverted temple, it is highlighting the sanctity of water and is divided into seven levels of stairs with sculptural panels; more than 500 principle sculptures and over a thousand minor ones combine religious, mythological and secular imagery, often referencing literary works.

Stop At: Parshwanath Jain Tirth Panchasara Patan, Shree Vastupal Tejpal Vaiyavach Kshetra, opposite Panchasara Derasar Hemchandracharya Road, Piplani Sheri, P.O. Patan, Patan. District – Patan, Egara, Gungdipati Part, Gujarat 384265, India
Panchasara Jain Temple the king Vanraj Chavada built this jain temple around VS 802. There are 51 mini temples around the temple. It was said that main idol of lord parshwanath much older than Vikram Samvat 802- hindu calendar (around 8th century). There are around 10 parashwanath temples among 108 are situated in the patan city in different pole. All this temples are century old and marvelous example of carving in marbles.

Stop At: Sun Temple, On Becharaji Highway, Modhera 384212 India
Modhera Sun Temple a Hindu temple dedicated to the solar deity Surya located at Modhera village of Mehsana district. It is situated on the bank of the river Pushpavati. It was built after 1026-27 CE during the reign of Bhima I of the Chaulukya dynasty. No worship is offered now and is protected monument maintained by Archaeological Survey of India. The temple complex has three components: Gudhamandapa, the shrine hall; Sabhamandapa, the assembly hall and Kunda, the reservoir. The halls have intricately carved exterior and pillars. The reservoir has steps to reach the bottom and numerous small shrines.

Day 5: Ahmedabad – Departure (flight)

Stop At: Ahmedabad, Ahmedabad, Ahmedabad District, Gujarat
Breakfast at hotel, city tour of Ahmedabad. Visit Hatheesing Jain Temple established in 1850 by Seth Hatheesing, who was a rich Jain merchant. This temple is dedicated to the 15th ‘Jain Tirthankar’, known as Dharamnath. Bhadra fort a beautiful monument that is famous for its intricate carvings, pattern works and beautiful frescos suits. Arches at the entry gate, has some inscriptions that represents the history of the fort. Jama Mosque there are different entrances to the mosque. Near the eastern entrance, stands the tomb of the Sultan Ahmed Shah, which houses the graveyard of three great rulers, namely Ahmed Shah, his son, Mohammed Shah and his grandson, Qutub-Ud-Din Ahmed Shah. Kite Museum the city of Ahmedabad is popular for the Kite Festival so it doesn’t come as a surprise if you find an entire museum dedicated to kites. The popular Kite Museum that houses some of the rarest kites in the world is a first of its kind in India and second in the world. Sabarmati Ashram on his return from South Africa, Gandhi’s first Ashram in India was established in the Kochrab area of Ahmedabad on 25 May 1915. The Ashram was then shifted on 17 June 1917 to a piece of open land on the banks of the river Sabarmati. Reasons for this shift included: he wanted to do some experiments in living eg farming, animal husbandry, cow breeding, Khadi and related constructive activities. Shaking Minarets one of the most unique monuments in Ahmedabad, located in Siddi Bashir’s Mosque near the Sarangpur gate.
