Dharamsala Trip Overview
Trek up a gentle slope from McLeodganj to reach the small village of Dharamkot that is situated 6 900 feet above sea level. The village overlooks the picturesque Kangra valley and is surrounded by the Dhauladhar mountain range. It serves as the base camp for several mountain treks. Continue your climb through the pine and cedar forests till Gallu Devi temple. After a short rest, trek up to the banks of the Bhated river located in the village of Bahl. The whole trek takes around 2-3 hours.

Itinerary
You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and driven to McLeodganj from where the trek starts.
Dharamkot is just a mile away from McLeodganj and can be reached by a gentle climb that takes around 45 minutes. The trek takes you through thick pine, cedar and rhododendron forests. In complete contrast to the hustle and bustle of McLeodganj, Dharamkot is an idyllic village surrounded by densely forested mountain ranges. Continue your climb up the slope till you reach Gallu Devi Temple. Stop and rest here for a while. Enjoy a packed lunch (beverage excluded) before you set off for the remaining journey.
Bahl village is just a short climb away from Gallu Devi Temple. After the 2-3 hours of climbing, the sight of the crystal clear waters of the River Bhated is a truly rewarding experience.
Trek back to Dharamkot from where you will be driven back and dropped off at your hotel.
