Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati – Cherrapunji

Pass By: Polo Orchid Resort Cherrapunjee, Mawsmai-Nongthymmai Road, near Water Falls, Cherrapunji‎, Meghalaya 793108, India
Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport, drive to Cherrapunji (4 hours). The region is famous for being one of the wettest place on the planet and naturally the lifestyle, nature, atmosphere and landscape are all unique and fascinating due to this phenomenon. En route stop at Umiam Lake to enjoy the scenic vistas and some boating. Evening at leisure.

Day 2: Cherrapunji

Pass By: Polo Orchid Resort Cherrapunjee, Mawsmai-Nongthymmai Road, near Water Falls, Cherrapunji‎, Meghalaya 793108, India
Spend the day at leisure sightseeing in and around Cherrapunji where you will visit beautiful waterfalls such as the Seven Sisters, Dainthlen, Khynrem and Nokhalikai Falls, intriguing caves such as Mawsmai and Arwah, and the eco park. You can go on a fun short hike to the secretive and pristine Wei Sawdong Falls. You can also interact with the locals to learn about their unique lifestyles and culture. For lunch, you can visit the highly reviewed restaurant of Jiva Resort. Other times at leisure to explore the dreamy landscape. Evening at leisure. You can request a campfire.

Day 3: Cherrapunji – Shillong

Pass By: Ri Kynjai – Serenity By The Lake, Umniuh Khwan, UCC Road, Ri Bhoi District, Meghalaya 793122, India
After an early breakfast, drive to Shillong (1-2 hours), the charming capital of Meghalaya. It is a historic hill station established during the British era and is also referred to as ‘Scotland of the east’. On the way, visit Shillong Peak, the highest point on the Khasi Hills which offers a panoramic view of the hills. Also visit the majestic Elephant Falls nearby where the cascade formations resemble like large elephants. Later in the day, explore the charming hill-station in leisurely walks as time permits. Visit places such as Lady Hydari Park, Ward’s Lake and old churches. You can enjoy lunch at a nice restaurant or cafe. During the afternoon, visit the offbeat Siat Khnam, a unique way of gambling practiced by locals which involves archery. Evening can be spent leisurely exploring the upbeat markets where one can also buy handicrafts and souvenirs from the handloom emporiums.

Day 4: Shillong – Mawlynnong – Shillong

Pass By: Ri Kynjai – Serenity By The Lake, Umniuh Khwan, UCC Road, Ri Bhoi District, Meghalaya 793122, India
Leave early for an excursion to Dawki (3 hours), a beautiful picnic spot near Bangladesh border. Enjoy a ride in country boats in the clear waters of the Umgnot River which are surrounded by steep gorges. En route a short fun hike can take you to the secretive Bardaw Falls where you can enjoy a swim. Later, explore the nearby village of Mawlynnong (1 hour), considered to be Asia’s cleanest village with neat flower-laden lanes and cozy looking sustainable houses. Explore the beautiful village, interact with the villagers and also enjoy the panoramic view of Bangladesh plains below. Also, visit the Living Root Bridge at Riwai village nearby that will further marvel you at the magic that is Khasi Hills. Return to Shillong and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 5: Shillong – Guwahati

Pass By: Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Borjhar, Guwahati, Assam 781015, India
After breakfast, drive to Guwahati Airport (3-4 hours) as per your departure schedule. En route you can visit some places in Guwahati as time permits. Recommended spots of interest are the historical Kamakhya Temple, the Umananda Temple at Peacock Island right in the middle of mighty Brahmaputra River, the city museum, cultural center of Kalashetra and local emporiums. Tour ends.
