The renowned ‘Palace Of The Winds’, or Hawa Mahal, is one of the prominent tourist attractions in Jaipur city.Hawa Mahal, literally the Palace of Winds, was built in 1799 by the poet king Sawai Pratap Singh as a summer retreat for him and his family. It also served as a place where the ladies of the royal household could observe everyday life without being seen themselves. This unique five-storey structure is a blend of Hindu and Islamic architecture, and the exterior, with its small latticed windows (called jharokhas), resembles the crown of Lord Krishna.

Stop At: City Palace of Jaipur, Tripolia Bazar Near Jantar Mantar, Jaipur 3023002 India

A beautiful fusion of Mughal and Rajput architecture, The City Palace is situated deep within the walled city. The Palace was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, the founder of Jaipur. The last ruling royal family still lives in the private section of the palace. The City Palace consists of the Palace of Reception (The Mubarak Mahal) and the Palace of the Queen (The Maharani’s Palace) and a Museum of Royal Costumes.

The Jantar Mantar is considered to be the largest of the 5 astronomical observatories built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. It contains fourteen geometric devices, designed to measure time, track celestial bodies and observe the orbits of the planets around the sun. There are plenty of observatories all over the world, but the Jantar Mantar is considered to be one of the largest observatories ever built.

The building gets its name from The Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the inspiration for its design. Sir Swinton Jacob (who is also the mastermind behind many other palaces in Rajasthan) conceptualised and designed it using styles from the Indo-Saracenic architecture and the Prince of Wales laid the foundation stone of the building in 1876. The museum displays a wide range of metal objects, wood crafts, carpets, stone and metal sculptures, arms and weapons, natural stones and ivory goods, common history examples, such as Egyptian Mummy and the well known Persian Golden Carpet.. It also houses a large collection of miniatures from Bundi, Kota, Kishangarh, Udaipur and Jaipur schools of art.

This will be our last stop before going back. Situated in the City Palace complex, The temple of Govind Dev Ji is the most sacred and famous tourist destinations in India. Govind Dev Ji, is itself Lord Shri Krishna, and It is believed that the image in this temple looks exactly how Lord Krishna looked during his incarnation on earth.
