This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Soumya and Abhishek live in an apartment which is centrally located with great views of the city. Their apartment is simple and modest. They also have an outdoor terrace where they prefer to host their guests when the weather is good. During your cooking class with Somya, she will teach you to make an everyday meal, typically eaten in Rajasthani homes. These are simple, family recipes that she hopes you can easily recreate. Join Somya and her mother in law, Chitra in their home kitchen to learn to make two seasonal vegetables and chapati (flatbread).

Sample Menu

• tea or lime juice with vegetable pakoras (fritters)
• Chapati or paratha (flatbread) and rice – served with aloo pyaaz ki sabzi (onion potato curry), dal fry (lentils) and bhindi masala (okra)
• pista kheer (pistachio rice pudding) – or shrikhand (a sweet dish made using hung curd (yogurt) and powdered sugar)
