Rat Temple ( Karni Mata Temple) : The famous 600 years old temple is situated 30 KM from Bikaner in Deshnok.It is also know to Karni Mata Temple.This temple is dedicated of karni Mata, An incarnation of Goddess Durga. The temple has huge intricately carved silver gates which were donated by Maharaja (King) Ganga Singh.

The most interesting thing about the temple are the rates who scamper freely within precincts. They are regarded as sacred and are fed by priests & devotees owing to the belief that they will be reincarnated in the family of the goddess. These are holy rats are called Kabbas, And many people travel great distance to pay their respects, The temple draws visitors from across the country for blessings, as well as curious tourists from around the world.

The center has been identified as one of the important tourist place of Bikaner and is included in the tourist guide book. The tourist visiting the center can see the camel of different breeds and their behavior. A camel museum is available to apprise them of the development and research aspects of the camel in the desert ecosystem. Facilities of camel riding, Safari and Video/Photography are available for the visitors. Camel milk parlour is a special attraction because it vendors unique value added camel milk products like ice-cream, hot and cold beverages. Every years thousands of Foreign and Indian Tourists visit the center.

The camel corps of Bikaner were a famous fighting force during the “Raj” & are still an important part of desert warfare and defence. The Border Security Force (BSF) uses camel for patrolling on the Indo-Pak border in Rajasthan sector.
