Day 1: Arrive at Kolkata

After arriving in Kolkata, you will be greeted by our rep and transferred to your hotel. Later you will be taken for a travel and tour of the City of Joy. You will get to visit places like the Jain Temple, a beautiful monument of great architecture and colors established in 1867. This will be followed by a visit to The Victoria Memorial which was built in the 1900s in the memory of Queen Victoria. It is now a museum that houses paintings, manuscripts and other objects of historical importance. Through your ride around the city, you will experience a panoramic view of The Howrah Bridge, Dalhousie Square, Fort Williams, Secretariat Building and the Old Court House Street.

Day 2: Kolkata to Bagdogra by flight, Bagdogra to Darjeeling by road
Pass By: Tea Garden, Darjeeling 734101 India
you will be taken to the Kolkata airport in time for your Bagdogra flight. On reaching Bagdogra, you will be received by our rep at the airport, and then you will be taken to Darjeeling. Darjeeling is 2 hours and 30 minutes’ drive from Bagdogra, and the journey offers you with one of the best experiences of a road trip. The roads are peaceful with lush green trees on both sides. After reaching Darjeeling, check into your hotel to stay the night. Spend the rest of the day at leisure to gain back your energy to be a part of the following fun day.

Day 3: Darjeeling City Tour
Stop At: Ghoom Monastery, Tamang Buddhidt Monastery Rd, Darjeeling 734102 India
Today early in the morning you will be visiting Tiger Hill and Ghoom Monastery. From the Tiger Hill, on a clear day, you will witness a beautiful sunrise, Kanchandzonga and Mount Everest. If there are no clouds, you can see the horizon changing colors before the sunrise and then the entire mountains turn golden. The beautiful sight will be embedded in your mind for life. On your return, you will be visiting Ghoom Monastery which is the oldest Monastery – built in 1875. In the afternoon tour of Darjeeling, you will visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (Closed on Thursdays). The Mountaineering Institute was started to give training for Mountaineering and other adventure sports and one can see equipment used by Tenzing Norgay. You can visit the Himalayan Zoological Park to see the Snow Leopard, Tibetan Wolf, Tibetan Yak, Himalayan Black Bear and several varieties of birds. Also visit the Refugee Centre (Closed on Sundays) run by Tibetan Refugees to preserve their handicrafts. Here you can observe the making of Tibetan Carpets, Leather work, Paintings and Wooden work etc. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Darjeeling to Pemayangste by road
Stop At: Pemayangtse Monastery, 8742+3JM, Sikkim 737111, India
You will be transferred by road to Pemayangste. Pemayangtse the second oldest city of Sikkim is located in the Pelling region towards west of Sikkim and was established at the period of the third generation of the Chogyal Chador Namgyal in the year 1705. The term “Pemayangtse” literally means “an ideal sublime lotus” that symbolizes one of the four retes in human body. You will mesmerized by the ambience of the place. At the backdrop one can see snow-capped and lush green valleys and mountains covered with dense forest. Later you have a tour of Pemayangtse. The Pemayangtse Monastery built in the 17th century is at a great height and is the second oldest monastery. This monastery is one of the most important monasteries and is the only one where the monks of this monastery enjoy the title of ‘Tasang’ or pure monks. The view from this place of the Kanchandzonga range is quite beautiful. The monastery belongs to the order of the Nyigma and first level of monastery has outstanding sculptures, ancient scrolls and paintings with various statues of the eight incarnations of Padmasammbhava from a seven layered structure made up of wood depicting heavenly abode of the Guru Rinpoche. Day 5: Pemayangste to Gangtok by raod

You will be transferred by road to Gangtok. Gangtok is the capital and the largest city of Sikkim and is populated by Nepalese, Lepcha and Bhutia’s and means “Hill Top”. The Sikkim’s ruler Tutor Namgyal shifted the capital to Gangtok from Tumlong in 1894. Gangtok is a centre of Buddhist learning and culture and boasts of several monasteries. In the 19th century, Gangtok was an important centre for trading between the Tibetans and the British. The borders to Tiber were closed for trading in 1962 due to the war between India and China. Day 6: Gangtok full day tour
Stop At: Rumtek Monastery, 24km from Gangtok, 737135 India
Today you will be visiting the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology and the Do Drul Chorten Rumtek Monastery. The Tibetology is situated in the middle of a natural backdrop of oaks and birch trees, and it has an extensive collection of rare books and manuscripts on the Mahayana Buddhism. The Rumtek Monastery is also known as the Dharmachakra Centre, and it houses many important relics. You will then be taken to Enchey Monastery which belongs to the Nyingma order of Vajrayana Buddhism. The travel and tour continue with the visit of Directorate of handloom and handicrafts where you will encounter the manufacturing of traditional Sikkimese art and crafts. You will then return to your hotel for the night stay.

Day 7: Gangtok to Bagdogra by flight, Bagdogra to Kolkata by road

On the seventh day, your travel and tour of Sikkim end. According to the plan made by North East India Tour Package, you have to bid farewell to Sikkim with a bag full of memories and souvenirs. In the morning you will be driven to Bagdogra from Gangtok by our agents from where you will avail the flight for Kolkata. After reaching Kolkata, check into your hotel and rest. Day 8: Kolkata to Bhubaneshwar by flight, Bhubaneshwar to Puri by road

On the eighth day, you will fly from Kolkata to Bhubaneshwar. Our agents will pick you up from Bhubaneshwar and then drop you at Puri. In Puri, you will check into your hotel and be at leisure for the rest of the day. You will spend the night in Puri.

Day 9: Temple Tour of Puri
Stop At: Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri, Grand Rd, At post, Puri, Odisha 752001, India
Today the tour of Puri will take you the various temples of Puri. Puri is the only shrine where Radha, Lakshmi, Durga, Parvati, Sati and Shakti abode with Krishna. Thousands of pilgrims flock to Puri every year to participate in the Ratha Yatra (Festival of Chariots). Every Hindu would like to make a pilgrimage tour to four temples towns at least once in his life and Puri is one of them and the other three are Badrinath, Dwarika and Rameshwaram. Shree Lokanath Temple is where Lord Shiva hid himself from Shani, in a pond and the Shivalinga is partially submerged. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Puri to Bhubaneshwar transfer en-route visiting Konark SunTemple
Stop At: Konark Sun Temple, Kasia-Tamkuhi Road, Konark India
you will be transferred from Puri to Konark, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At Konark, you will visit the famous Sun Temple which was built in the 13th Century. The Sun Temple is also known as Black Pagoda as it was constructed with black granite material. The travel and tour continue with you being on the road to Bhubaneshwar. After reaching Bhubaneshwar, you can spend your afternoon at leisure at your hotel.

Day 11: Temple Tour of Bhubaneshwar
Stop At: Lingaraja Temple, Lingaraj Nagar, Old Town, Bhubaneswar, Odisha 751002, India
In your morning city tour of Bhubaneshwar, you will be visiting the various temples of this city. Bhubaneswar known as the Temple City of India had over a thousand temples and some of the important temples are Lingaraj Temple, Muktesvara Temple, Rajarani Temple, and Ananta Vasudeva Temple. Most of the temples built between 7th and 11th century are of Lord Shiva. The State Museum houses artifacts, weapons and local arts and crafts. A visit to the Nandankanan Zoological Park is quite interesting. The botanical garden has a good collection of exotic and regional fauna. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Bhubaneshwar to Calcutta by flight

This is the last day of your travel and tour of East India. You have to bid farewell to the North East of India with loads of stories to remember and tell. On the last day, our agents will take you to Bhubaneshwar Airport from where you will fly to Kolkata or Delhi. From Kolkata or Delhi, you will avail the flight back home. There will be no accommodation for the 12th Day in Kolkata.
