What makes Explore The Religious Sites Of Kolkata, Lunch Included a unique experience ?

You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and driven to the largest mosque in Kolkata, the Nakhoda Mosque. Built in 1926, this mosque can accommodate 10,000 devotees in its huge pillared hall.

Next visit the beautiful Jain temple. The temple is famous for the glasswork of its interiors. The floral patterns of the marble floor, the wall paintings and exquisite chandeliers add to the beauty of this temple. The lamp inside the temple has been burning continuously since the inception of the temple in 1867.

Next on the itinerary is an equally old and beautiful Hindu temple, the Dakshineswar Kali Temple. Built in 1855, just 2 years before the Indian Mutiny of 1857, the temple is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Kali. The temple also has 12 identical shrines dedicated to God Shiva.

The Anglican St. Paul’s Cathedral is the next stop of the day. The gothic architecture of this imposing church makes it a famous attraction of Kolkata. In 1847, this was the first cathedral to be built in the overseas territories of the British Empire.

After the morning excursion take lunch (beverage excluded) at a local restaurant.

After lunch, visit the Missionaries of Charity at Mother House, the home that was founded in 1950 by Mother Teresa to take care of the sick and the destitute.
