Krishnaraja Sagar Dam (KRS): It was built across the river Cauvery and named after Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV. It was constructed in 1934 by the chief engineer Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The water from the Dam is used for irrigation in Mysore and Mandya and is the main source of drinking water for Mysore, Mandya, and Bengaluru city.
