Half-day tour of New Delhi gives you a glimpse into the magnificent structures of the city, particularly, the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Humayun’s Tomb and the Qutub Minar. Meet your private guide in the lobby of your hotel and then proceed to New Delhi. Our first stop is the mausoleum of Emperor Humayun. Designed by Persian architect Mirak Mirza, the tomb was commissioned by Humayun’s queen and chief consort, Haji Begum. The tomb precedes the Taj Mahal in being the first garden tomb in the Indian subcontinent. Humayun’s tomb was the first to introduce the distinctive combination of red sandstone and white marble. The complex of the tomb features over 100 graves and the eight side chambers of the tomb symbolize the Islamic concept of paradise.
Our next stop is the Qutub Minar. Notably, the earliest specimen of Muslim architecture, the Qutub Minar was commissioned by Qutub-ud-din Aibak, the first Muslim ruler of the Delhi Sultanate. The construction of this gigantic 72 meters-high tower, was completed by Iltutmish, Aibak’s son-in-law and successor. This highest single tower in India was built to commemorate the defeat of the last Hindu kingdom in Delhi. Near the Qutub Minar lies, the Quwwat-ul-Islam, considered to be India’s oldest mosque.

We then drive past Delhi’s iconic modern day structures like the Connaught Place, The Parliament and The President House. Our tour ends when we drop you back to your hotel.
