Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi to Rishikesh

Pass By: Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, Delhi 110037, India
You will be picked up from your hotel in Delhi and driven to Rishikesh that is situated at a distance of 170 miles from Delhi. The drive to Rishikesh takes around 6 hours. Rishikesh catapulted to fame when the Beatles dropped by for a visit to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s Ashram.

Upon your arrival in Rishikesh, check in to your hotel and spend a few hours at leisure. Before sunset you will be driven to the banks of the River Ganges to watch the spectacular Ganga aarti (prayer ceremony). The evening sky gets lit up by the numerous lamps that are lighted to worship the River Ganges. The whole atmosphere becomes serene as monks and priests chant holy mantras (hymns) and the pilgrims float lamps on the river. After the prayer ceremony return to your hotel and have dinner (beverage excluded).

Day 2: Rishikesh – Barkot

After a leisurely breakfast you will be driven to Barkot, a hill station at a height of 4000 feet above sea level. Enjoy the picturesque drive to Barkot, stopping for lunch on the way at Damta. Upon reaching Barkot, check in at your homestay and relax till tea time. After tea you may decide to explore the surrounding areas and return to your homestay in time for dinner.

Day 3: Barkot

Enjoy a traditional breakfast before you set out for the day. Visit a local girls’ school and get a glimpse of a day at a local school. Join the children for lunch and get to interact with them and learn about their life in this beautiful village surrounded by some breathtaking views of the mountains. After lunch explore Barkot and return to your homestay for evening tea. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 4: Excursion to Yamunotri

Pass By: On Way To Yamunotri, Barkot – Yamunotri Rd, Yamnotri Range, Uttarakhand 249141, India
After breakfast you will be driven to the village of Kharsali from where you will have a 3 miles trek to Yamunotri, the source of the River Yamuna. The trek offers some remarkable perspectives of the Himalayas. Upon reaching Yamunotri enjoy a packed lunch. Spend the next few hours exploring the area. You may even decide to take a dip in one of the hot springs there. In the afternoon, trek back to Kharsali from where you will be driven back to your homestay in Barkot. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 5: Barkot – Mussoorie- Delhi

Pass By: Mussoorie Lake, Dhobi Ghat, Mussoorie 248179 India
After breakfast you will be driven to the nearby hill station of Mussoorie that is situated at an altitude of 6 170 feet above sea level. En route, stop at the ancient Hindu temple complex of Lakhamandal that dates back to the 12th century. The temple there is dedicated to the Hindu God, Shiva. After the stop at Lakhamandal, continue your drive to Mussoorie. Spend a few hours exploring Mussoorie before you continue your onward journey to Delhi.

On reaching Delhi, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
