Your first destination is Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built-in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak. Qutb Minar is a 73-meter tall tapering tower of five stories, with a 14.3 meters base diameter, reducing to 2.7 meters at the top of the peak. It was erected to mark the beginning of Muslim dominance in Delhi.

Next destination is the Humayun’s tomb, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Humayun’s tomb is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun in Delhi, India. The tomb was commissioned by Humayun’s first wife and chief consort, Empress Bega Begum, in 1569-70, and designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyas and his son, Sayyid Muhammad, Persian architects chosen by her.

At the center of New Delhi stands the 42 m high India Gate, an “Arc-de-Triomphe” like archway in the middle of a crossroad. Almost similar to its French counterpart, it commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during the World War I. The memorial bears the names of more than 13,516 British and Indian soldiers killed in the Northwestern Frontier in the Afghan war of 1919.

Your Delhi tour now ends with a drive past through the President’s house, Parliament House and Secretariat buildings. Continue drive to Agra. On reaching Agra, you will check-in at the hotel followed by an overnight stay.

Mehtab Bagh is a charbagh complex in Agra, North India. It lies north of the Taj Mahal complex and the Agra Fort on the opposite side of the Yamuna River, in the flood plains. The garden complex, square in shape, measures about 300 by 300 meters and is perfectly aligned with the Taj Mahal on the opposite bank.

Day 2: Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Jaipur

Early in the morning leave for a guided tour of Taj Mahal at sunrise time.

The Taj Mahal (UNESCO Heritage Sites) is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal; it also houses the tomb of Shah Jahan himself. It took 22 years’ time to be finished. This is the supreme expression of the love of a man for his beloved. In the Taj Mahal complex, you visit the mosque and the Guesthouse built out of red sandstone. If you wish to see the Mughal artifacts and the Taj Mahal design do not forget to see the Taj Museum. The cenotaph of the Taj Mahal is highly decorated with the inlaid semi-precious stones.

Day 3: Jaipur City Tour

This magnificent fort comprises an extensive palace complex, built from pale yellow and pink sandstone, and white marble, and is divided into four main sections, each with its own courtyard. Raja Man Singh built this palace in 1592. The royal family had been residing here until Jai Singh II decided to move the capital to Jaipur and a new City Palace was built.

The City Palace, Jaipur was established at the same time as the city of Jaipur, by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, who moved his court to Jaipur from Amber, in 1727.

It features the world’s largest stone sundial and is a UNESCO World Heritage site There are plenty of observatories all over the world, but the Jantar Mantar is considered to be one of the largest observatories ever built.

The top offers stunning views over Jantar Mantar and the City Palace in one direction and over Sireh Deori Bazaar in the other.

Jal Mahal is a palace in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, India. The palace and the lake around it were renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber.

Day 4: Jaipur – Jaisalmer (by flight)

Jaisalmer Fort is famously known as the Golden Fort of Rajasthan. It was constructed by Raja Jaisal, Rajput ruler in the year 1156 AD. It ranks amongst the largest forts in the world. The golden and yellow mixed sandstone offers a magical look to the Fort. Rising from the desert sands like a mirage, the fort is a real sight with its 99 turrets during the night. The Fort stands tall and proud displaying the magic of Rajasthani architecture.

Gadisar Lake is located a kilometer away from the fort. It was constructed by the first ruler of the land, Raja Rawal Jaisal and later reconstructed by Maharawal Garsi in the year 1367 AD. The people of the desert city depended on this tank for their water needs. You will find temples, Holy shrines, and Chatteris around the banks of this lake. The artistically carved entrance made of yellow sandstone offers a breathtaking view.

Bada Bagh means ‘Huge Garden’. Maharawal Jait Singh’s period saw its construction, which was at the beginning of the 16th century. His son Lunakaran completed the construction after the death of his father. The garden served as a memorial where the nobles and their families were cremated. The garden offers a stunning view. The place is isolated. If you visit the place during sunrise and sunset, you are guaranteed of beautiful moments, which you cannot avoid clicking.

Day 5: Jaisalmer Half day tour & Desert Safari

Stop At: Kothari’s Patwaon-Ki-Haveli, Near Patwa Complex, Patwa Haveli, Jaisalmer 345001 India
Patwon-Ki-Haveli is located in the main city. It was built by a famous trader named Guman Chand and his sons. This massive five-storied construction has five intricately decorated huge suites. The large corridors and the decorated walls are excellent representations of the art form that prevailed. The entire construction is made of yellow sandstone. The grandeur and the architecture of the monument add immense value to the cultural heritage of the city. Out of the five havelis, one is converted into a museum. The third haveli houses the works of local craftsmen of the bygone era.

Stop At: Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli, Center Of The City Opp, Nathmal Haveli, Jaisalmer 345001 India
Nathmal Ki Haveli was built by two Muslim jeweler brothers not stone carvers on the order of the then prime minister. The brothers started working on the opposite sides of the building which lead to a similar but non-identical left and right side. Apart from its extraordinary outer carvings, this haveli is known for its beautiful interiors filled with paintings and equipped with modern facilities. An amalgamation of Islamic and Rajputana architecture, Nathmal Ki Haveli is well justified as being one of the most beautiful Havelis in Jaisalmer.

Stop At: Salim Singh-ki Haveli, Near Jaisalmer Fort, Jaisalmer India
Among all the Havelis in Jaisalmer, Salim Singh Ki Haveli is known for its distinctive and eye-catching architecture. It was built by the then minister, Salim Singh who wanted to make as high as the fort but was prohibited by the king. It has 38 balconies with their own distinctive style of architecture and a peacock shaped roof. This haveli provides a good glimpse in the past and the photographs taken here would be awe-inspiring.

Day 6: Jaisalmer – Delhi (by flight)

Stop At: Kuldhara Abandoned Village, On the road to Sam Sand Dunes and the Thar Desert, Jaisalmer 345001 India
After breakfast, you will be dropped off at Jaisalmer Airport for flight to Delhi.
You can visit an abandoned village called Kuldhara if time permits you.

An abandoned ghost town, Kuldhara was once a prosperous town occupied by Paliwal Brahmins. The reasons why a whole city was abandoned within a night is not clear but the popular belief holds the then state minister Salim Singh responsible for the same. The minister wanted to marry the village chief daughter and therefore delivered an ultimatum to the village chief to accept his demands or let the whole community face dire consequences. Rather than giving in to the minister’s demands, the whole village decided to move away. Before leaving, they cursed this place to never have any kind of human settlement and this has been proven true to this date. Visit Kuldhara to get a glimpse of the past and get spooked by its tales.
