this 16th century fortress is located closer to Yamuna River in Agra. This fort was built as a military base by Akbar and was converted into royal residence by Jehangir, his descendant. This fort was designated with the title of World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983.

City Palace is right in the centre of the Old City. The outer wall was built by Jai Singh II, but within it the palace has been enlarged and adapted over the centuries. Between 1724 and 1730 Maharajah Sawaii Jai Singh II of Jaipur constructed five astronomical observatories in north India. These structures with their striking combinations of geometric forms at large scale have captivated the attention of architects, artists, and art historians world wide, yet remain largely unknown to the general public.
