Day 1: Delhi City Tour

Tour begins with the pickup from hotel/airport in Delhi NCR and proceed to visit Humayun’s tomb is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun in Delhi, India. The tomb was commissioned by Humayun’s first wife and chief consort, Empress Bega Begum, in 1569-70, and designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyas and his son, Sayyid Muhammad, Persian architects chosen by her.

The Red Fort Complex was built as the palace fort of Shahjahanabad – the new capital of the fifth Mughal Emperor of India, Shah Jahan. Named for its massive enclosing walls of red sandstone, it is adjacent to an older fort, the Salimgarh, built by Islam Shah Suri in 1546, with which it forms the Red Fort Complex.

Hawa Mahal, or the Palace of the Winds, built in 1799 A.D. This five-storied building along the main street of the old city is a pink sandstone masterpiece, with semi-octagonal, delicately honeycombed windows.

You will then drive to city, with a pit-stop for photos at Jal Mahal, the Rajput-style ‘Water Palace’, which sits in the center of the Man Sarobar lake
