Stop At: Chandni Chowk, Chandni Chowk, New Delhi, National Capital Territory of Delhi

We will begin the tour with a visit to Chandni Chowk – The market place of Old Delhi which has some dramatic remnants of the Mughal Empire. Enjoy a rickshaw ride in the by-lanes of Old Delhi. Every lane houses a market which trades in a particular commodity and is named accordingly. Dariba Kalan or Silver Ware market, Kinari Bazaar or laces and frills market. Chandni Chowk also has the largest wholesale spice market in India – Khari Baoli . You will visit a spice store. You can also try Kulfi – the traditional Indian frozen dessert and the Jalebi – a unique Indian fried snacks. Drive past the Red Fort and visit the Jama Masjid – India’s largest mosque; both built by Emperor Shahjahan.

Raj Ghat is the the site of Mahatma Gandhi’s cremation. It was here on the banks of River Yamuna where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. It is now a memorial

Stop At: India Gate, Rajpath Near Connaught Place New Delhi, New Delhi 110001 India

Next stop is India Gate and its adjoining buildings, the President’s Palace and The Indian Parliament House. India Gate was built to commemorate the Indian soldiers who laid down their lives in Anglo-Afghan wars and World War 1. The memorial has the names of 82,000 soldiers who laid down their lives. The memorial has the Amar Jawan Jyoti or The Eternal Flame dedicated to the fallen Unknown Soldiers.

Stop At: Humayun’s Tomb, Mathura Road Opp Nizamuddin Mosque, New Delhi 110013 India

Humayun’s tomb, was built by the Queen of emperor Humayun in the 16th century. It is the first example of garden Tomb in India and was the inspiration for Taj Mahal. It is an early example of Mughal architecture and is in the centre of Nizamuddin Archaelogical area. This is UNESCO World Heritage Monument and was the inspiration for the Taj Mahal which was built about a century later.

The Connaught Place was the central business district built by the English rulers. Visit Gurdawara Bangla Sahib; the most revered place of worship in Delhi of the followers of the Sikh faith .

Stop At: Qutub Minar, Qutb Minar, Mehrauli, New Delhi 110030 India

Qutb Minar is the earliest example of Islamic Architecture in India. It is a 234 feet high brick monument built in the 11th Century by the rulers of the Mamluk dynasty. Qutub Minar and its adjoining monument is an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Pass By: Lotus Temple Rd, Bahapur, Shambhu Dayal Bagh, Kalkaji Near Kalkaji Temple, East of Nehru Place, New Delhi 110019 India

Lotus Temple is a modern archtectural marvel to grace the skyline of Delhi. It was built in the 80s and is the main place of worship for the followers of the Bahai Faith. Built in the shape of a white blooming lotus this monument has a hall where people can meditate for some time.
