From the third Mughal emperor Akbar the great to his grandson Shahjhan and fifth Mughal Emperor, all of them contributed in blend of Hindu and Persian architecture of the fort. Alluring palaces and elegant gardens were constructed. It was once a gilded prison for Shahjahan.
