It is believed that Mumtaj Mahal was the most beautiful women of her time, and thus, the Emperor decided to build something equally beautiful. More than 25,000 people worked for 22 years to create this architectural masterpiece.

Yet another architectural masterpiece built during the Mughal Empire is Agra Fort, often called the sister monument of the Taj. Sometimes remained the seat of power and capital of the Mughal Empire, this fort today serves as a royal museum housing the costumes, jewelry, armory and treasures of the Mughal Empire.
Agra Fort was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar during the 16th century. This was the time when Akbar decided to shift his capital from Fatehpur Sikri to Agra. The Agra Fort is one of the strongest forts in India.

3:00 PM Another beautiful monument in Agra is Baby Taj, a smaller replica of the Taj Mahal. It is the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula, the chief of the court of Mughal Emperor Jahangir. The monument is famous for its religious values as well as supreme architecture.
