For this tour, you will be picked up at 9am by a private, air-conditioned vehicle. First, visit the Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques, the courtyard of which can hold up to 25,000 devotees. Next, take an exhilarating rickshaw ride through the bustling and colorful streets of the shopping bazaar, Chandni Chowk.

Pass By: Red Fort, Netaji Subhash Marg, New Delhi 110002 India

Drive past Red Fort (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) – Founded by Emperor Shah Jahan and surrounded by a magnificent 18m-high wall, this fort took 10 years to construct (1638–48) and is rumored to have had the decapitated bodies of prisoners built into the foundations for luck.

Stop At: Raj Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi Road, New Delhi 110002 India

Raj Ghat On the banks of the Yamuna River, this peaceful, very well maintained park contains a simple black-marble platform marking the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated following his assassination in 1948.

At approx 1pm, you will be taken to enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant before traveling to India Gate, a memorial raised in honor of 82,000 soldiers who died during the First World War.

From there, you’ll drive past government buildings including the President’s House and the Parliament House which both date back to the time of the British Raj.

Stop At: Qutub Minar, Qutb Minar, Mehrauli, New Delhi 110030 India

Next In New Delhi we visit the 11th century Qutab Minar Tower, built by Qutub-ud-din Aibek of the Slave Dynasty, who took possession of Delhi in 1206. It is a red sandstone tower, standing tall at a height of 72.5 metres and is covered with intricate carvings and verses from the holy Qur’an.
