In the year 1631, construction of this iconic monument was started. About 22,000 laborers and 1,000 elephants completed the construction in 22 years. This epitome of love was entirely built using white marble (brought from every part of India and central Asia). The
construction was completed in the year 1653 and included an expenditure of 40 million rupees approx. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and has been enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage site built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Arjumand Bano Begum, popularly known as Mumtaz Mahal. This white mausoleum was built in Mughal architectural style.

It is popularly known as the Agra Fort which was built on the banks of River Yamuna covering an area of almost 2.5 km this fort was built using red sandstone, housing several buildings inside.

Noor Jahan, Ghias Beg is known as the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula which is one of the popular attractions of Agra. The chief tomb was built using pure white marble. Each of its walls comprises of three arches with attractive trellis screens, which have been carved so delicately that they look like as if made of ivory.
