Stop At: Friday Mosque (Jama Masjid), 6 km North of Connaught Pl. across from Lal Qila, New Delhi India

Start with Jama Masjid (The Friday Mosque) is the congregational mosque of Old Delhi. It was commissioned by the fifth Mughal ruler known as Shah Jahan. Who was a noted patron of Islamic architecture whose most famous work is the Taj Mahal, in Agra. The mosque is sited on a high plinth atop a natural hillock. it is the largest mosque in India & Due to its magnificence and size, it is often regarded as the apotheosis of Indian mosque design.

The Parliament House was designed by British architect Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker. It is one of the most impressive buildings in New Delhi. The Parliament houses the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and a library hall. where a country of 1.3 billion people is managed. The government of the largest democracy in the world sits in the parliament house.

Stop At: Humayun’s Tomb, Mathura Road Opp Nizamuddin Mosque, New Delhi 110013 India

Next visit Humayun’s tomb which is a world heritage site & final resting place of the second Mughal Emperor Humayun. It is the first garden-tomb in the Indian subcontinent. This splendid piece of architecture was commissioned by Humayun’s chief consort Empress Bega Begum in the year 1565 and is one of the very few structures that used red sandstone on such a massive scale at that time. The design of Humayun’s tomb is a typical Mughal architecture with Persian influences. This great masterpiece is also home to the remains of many other Mughals, including his wives, son and descendants of the later Emperor Shah Jahan, as well as numerous other subsequent Mughals.

Qutub Minar is a world heritage site. The tall minaret was constructed in 1192 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak and later completed by his successor Iltutmish. The soaring conical tower is an exquisite example of Indo-Islamic Afghan architecture & has survived the ravages of time impressively. This great masterpiece is surrounded by lush green gardens, which is an ideal leisurely place for visitors. Each of the 5 storeys and tower of Qutub Minar has unique designs. It was hit by lightning a couple of times and was damaged & subsequent rulers repaired it. Thus it is standing mightily as it was before till date. Qutub Minar is the favourite destination of tourists. It is India’s one of the most visited monument. After your tour, you will be driven back to the hotel or airport.
