Located high on a hill, it is the principal tourist attraction in Jaipur. The town of Amer was originally built by Meenas, and later it was ruled by Raja Man Singh I. Amer Fort is known for its artistic style elements. With its large ramparts and series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks Maota Lake, which is the main source of water for the Amer Palace. Mughal architecture greatly influenced the architectural style of several buildings of the fort. Constructed of red sandstone and marble, the attractive, opulent palace is laid out on four levels, each with a courtyard. It consists of the Diwan-e-Aam, or “Hall of Public Audience”, the Diwan-e-Khas, or “Hall of Private Audience”, the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), or Jai Mandir, and the Sukh Niwas where a cool climate is artificially created by winds that blow over a water cascade within the palace. Hence, the Amer Fort is also popularly known as the Amer Palace. The palace was the residence of the Rajput Maharajas and their families.
You are going to see a beautiful lake. The ancient name of Sarover is “Mahavata” but in common language is said to be Maota. Nearby that lake there were large wat trees. Because of this it called “Maotha”. The lake collects rain water flowing down from the nearby hills. The lake was the main source of water for the amer palace and for common people. The Dil-Aaram Bagh is situated on its northern end. The “Kesar Kyari”(Saffron Glower beds) garden is in its middle. That looks very beautiful.
You will be visiting the City Palace which is located in the center of the Jaipur near Jantar Mantar and Hawa-Mahal. The city palace site is used for hunting by Amber Kachwaha kings. And there is a royal hunting lodge at bank of Tal-katora Lake. And Sawai Jai Singh II changes the hunting lodge in Badal Mahal and started the construction of city palace. In 1818 Jaipur kings make alliance with British and established them self with the imperial rulers and does modernization in the Jaipur city Sawai Jai Singh and his succession ruler Jaipur is painted in white and yellow color. Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II (1835-1880 A.D.) credit that the city of Jaipur including all of its monuments including the city palace are painted in ‘Pink’ color. The change in color scheme was as an honor of hospitality extended to the Prince of Wales on his visit who later became King Edward VII. This color scheme has since then become a trademark of the Jaipur city and called as the “Pink City”.
You will see one of the magnificent structure of the world. Hawa Mahal (English translation: “The Palace of Winds” or “The Palace of Breeze”) is a palace in Jaipur, India. Made with the red and pink sandstone, the palace sits on the edge of the City Palace, Jaipur, and extends to the Zenana, or women’s chambers. The structure was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, the grandson of Sawai Jai Singh, who was the founder of Jaipur[1]. He was so inspired by the unique structure of Khetri Mahal that he built this grand and historical palace. It was designed by Lal Chand Ustad. Its unique five floors exterior is akin to the honeycomb of a beehive with its 953 small windows called Jharokhas decorated with intricate latticework.[2] The original intent of the lattice design was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life and festivals celebrated in the street below without being seen, since they had to obey the strict rules of “purdah”, which forbade them from appearing in public without face coverings. This architectural feature also allowed cool air from the Venturi effect to pass through, thus making the whole area more pleasant during the high temperatures in summer. Many people see the Hawa Mahal from the street view and think it is the front of the palace, but in reality it is the back of that structure.

The astronomical observatory established by the king Sawai Jai Singh have International importance. The Jantar Mantar houses various architectural and astrological instruments that have caught the interests of astronomers, historians and architects around the world. In the early 18th century Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II of Jaipur constructed five Jantar Mantar in total in New Delhi, Jaipur, Ujjain, Mathura and Varanasi. They were completed between 1724 -1735. The Jantar Mantar observatory was constructed between 1728 -1734. It is the largest observatories among five and best preserved and still running. It is a collection of 19 architectural astronomical instruments. It features the world’s biggest stone sundial “Smarat Yantra”, and is UNESCO World heritage site.
