Rishikesh Trip Overview

Kunjapuri Temple Sunrise Trek is half day excursion tour. Kunjapuri Temple is located 28 kms far from Rishikesh at the altitude of 1650 meters. You will be picked up from Rishikesh by our car at early morning. The drive is approx 1 hour. The Temple is dedicated to Goddess Shakti and considered very auspicious temple in local area. From the top you can see beautiful panoramic views of Himalaya. Behind the temple you can see the mountain range of Himalaya while from the front side you can view Rishikesh and Holy River Ganga. After the Sunrise view you will trek down (Total 9 kms trek). During the trek you will see mountains, village, local homes, farms etc. The Trek ends near Neer Gaddu waterfall. At the end you will be picked up by our car and will be dropped at your hotel in Rishikesh.

Kunjapuri Devi Temple is a scared temple of immense importance in Hindu religion. Located at an height of 1676 meters on the hills of the Tehri Garhwal District, Kunjapuri is one of the 52 shaktipeeth temples in Uttarakhand. It is believed that the chest of burned Sati (Lord Shiva’s first wife) had fallen there, hence the name Kunjapuri was given to this temple as kunja means chest in sanskrit. The temple not only has its religious and spiritual significance, but offers panoramic views of the snowcapped mountains and peaks surrounded by it.
