It is named after Maharana Sajjan Singh, who ruled from 1874 until his early death in 1884. He was a member of the Mewar Dynasty. It is said that it was built chiefly to watch the monsoon clouds; hence it is popularly known as Monsoon Palace. The views from the palace alone are worth the excursion.

What makes Monsoon Palace Fort Visit a unique experience ?
You will get picked up from your hotel in the city center. Accompanied by your guide, drive to Monsoon Palace. Named after Maharana Sajjan Singh, the Monsoon Palace is also known as Sajjan Garh Palace. Built on a hill top, the Monsoon Palace offers fantastic views of Udaipur, which had risen to prominence under the rule of Maharana Sajjan Singh. It is constructed with white marble with turrets, towers and pillars which depict beautiful motifs of leaves and flowers. Despite the beauty of the Monsoon Palace along with its unique rainwater harvesting techniques, the palace was slowly abandoned and has not been renovated. Not until very recently had the Monsoon Palace been opened to the public and it has now been added to the list of Udaipur’s popular tourist destination. Enjoy the palace, its unique location and views.
