Fort Kumbhalgarh (2 hours)

You will be picked up from fixed point / and driven for Jodhpur. Stop for sightseeing enroute.
Stop at Fort Kumbhalgarh, the second largest fort in Rajasthan after Chittorgarh. This 15th century fort is surrounded by a 22 miles long wall making it one of the largest walled complexes in the world. Built on a hilltop 3 600 feet above sea level, the fort offers panoramic views of the Aravalli mountain range and the Thar Desert. The fort has 360 temples located within its walls.

 

Jain Temple, Ranakpur (1 hour)

Next drive to the Jain Temple at Ranakpur. Upon your arrival, take in the frontal view of the temple that rises majestically above a flight of steps. The temple is four-faced and opens up to the four cardinal directions of the cosmos. It has 29 halls and 80 domes. The temple is dedicated to Adinath, the first Jain Tirthankara.

As you enter the temple you will notice the large number of marble pillars that surround you. There are 1,444 pillars in the temple, each with its unique carving. No two pillars are alike and they are erected in such a manner that the central shrine of the temple is still visible from all corners of the temple. What is more, the pillars change color during the course of the day. They turn from golden to pale blue as the day passes.

The interior walls are covered with intricately designed carvings. Do not miss the beautiful carving of 108 heads of a snake made from a single marble rock. In the prayer hall you will find two large bells, each weighing 238 pounds.
